Please note this position is based in our Halifax office and applicants must be able to work on location at 1801 Hollis Street, Halifax, NS. Hybrid arrangements for applicants outside the local area will not be considered.

Role Description:

Reporting to the BIM Manager, you will be an integral part of the BIM and drawing production team, supporting the development and implementation of technical solutions in both office and field environments. You will contribute to preliminary and detailed design phases of projects, through to tendering and construction.

Primary Accountabilities

You will participate in preliminary and detailed design phases of projects, through to tendering and construction. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing concept and detailed design drawings, as well as 3D models, for infrastructure projects including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
  • Reviewing drawings and 3D models for accuracy, coordination, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Understanding and applying company and client guidelines, procedures, and drawing standards across all projects.
  • Coordinating design team activities, including working with internal and external project team members, Revit/CAD technicians, and sub-consultants.
  • Assisting project managers and design leads by providing insight into BIM team workflows, procedures, and drawing production requirements.

Skills / Training Requirements

  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of building structural systems.
  • Strong focus on drawing production, presentation, consistency, and quality.
  • Ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to procedures and quality of work.
  • Understanding of the importance of company and client standards and procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.

Note: All successful applicants must meet requirements to obtain a minimum of Reliability Status clearance through the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) within 6 months of start date.
