As part of their regulatory requirement for Transport Canada, EastPoint manages and provides the annual visual inspection of mechanical, electrical and structural elements of the Bay Ferry terminals at Caribou, Nova Scotia, Woods Island PEI, and Saint John, New Brunswick. As part of these inspections, EastPoint also provides a strategy to deal with any deficiencies, to ensure buildings are maintained and safe.
The Sydney International Coal Pier receives and stores coal and petroleum coke off-loaded by self-unloading vessels. EastPoint assessed the facility’s structural, mechanical, and electrical components, and reviewed its operating equipment as well as the Sydney Coal Railway line on behalf of Nova Scotia Power (Owner of the International Coal Pier) and Logistec (the operator).
