EastPoint provided LEED® Fundamental Building Systems Commissioning for the school board, including contractor pre-functional and functional testing forms, tracking sheets, training schedules, progress and commissioning meetings, and the final commissioning report for Citadel High School in Halifax and eight other schools in Nova Scotia.
The Maritime Command, a unit within Maritime Forces Atlantic, is the headquarters for Atlantic Canadian naval operations and serves as the Operations Center for intelligence data fusion, analysis, picture compilation, and IT support. EastPoint designed an upgrade of the central chiller plant that addressed operational and efficiency issues, a critical function of this high-security, data-housing facility.
Dalhousie University’s largest residence required conversion from the existing steam-fired domestic hot water system to natural gas fired system. After a comprehensive study of the existing system including cost analysis, EastPoint designed a gas-fired condensing boiler to provide heating system hot water to integrate to the existing domestic hot water distribution system.
The Dartmouth Laboratory is a 55,000 square foot, multi-storey building that provides offices and laboratories to approximately 75 CFIA employees. EastPoint provided engineering services for extensive upgrades to the existing HVAC and Building Control systems to improve interior air quality and energy efficiency.
For the CBC’s Halifax studio, EastPoint replaced and consolidated three existing split-system AC units with central AC for reliable and more efficient cooling and humidification of critical spaces such as server rooms, editing suites, and recording rooms.
